   Though created by The American Legion in 1954, the American Legion Child Welfare Foundation, Inc. is a separate 501(c)3 corporation.  The Child Welfare Foundation's foremost philanthropic priority is to provide other nonprofit organizations with a means to educate the public about the needs of children across this nation.

 

   Special Olympics is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to become physically fit, productive, and respected members of society through sports training and competition.  Special Olympics offers children and adults with intellectual disabilities year-round training and competition in 30 Olympic-type summer and winter sports.

 

   Children's Miracle Network - the alliance of premier hospitals for children - is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children's hospitals across North America.  Each year the 170 Children's Miracle Network hospitals provide the finest medical care, life-saving research and preventative education to help millions of kids overcome diseases and injuries of every kind.

 

   American Legion Buckeye Boys State is a nine-day hands-on experience in the operation of the democratic form of government, the organization of political parties, and the relationship of one to the other in shaping Ohio government.  Founded in 1936, Buckeye Boys State is the largest Boys State program in the nation with an attendance of 1,400 young men annually.

 

    Since 1925, The American Legion has sponsored a nationwide youth baseball program. During these past eight decades, millions of young players have enjoyed playing baseball. The American Legion and their 2.8 million members have raised millions of dollars each year for players to learn the importance of teamwork, discipline, leadership and good sportsmanship. The American Legion sponsors American Legion Baseball to give players an opportunity to develop their skills, personal fitness, leadership qualities and to have fun.
